Home Visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the full range of equipment and facilities for clinical examination, we appreciate this is not always possible. If you are unable to visit the surgery and require a home visit, you can help us plan our visits each day by requesting such by 10.30am.

You should only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice.  Transport challenges are not necessarily a reason for a home visit and you should consider asking a family member, a friend, carer or a local community support group for transport to the Practice.  In the Poringland area, the Good Neighbours Scheme offers transport to the surgery.  You can contact them on 07934 195724.

Patients are able to request a home visit by a specific GP and whilst we will look to meet that request where possible, the visit may be by any of the GP team that day.

It may be appropriate in some cases for a Community Nurse to visit rather than a GP and if that is the case, we will request a visit from that team.
