Overseas visitors

If you are visiting the area from overseas and become unwell or have forgotten your medication, then we are happy to see you for emergency advice, treatment or medication.

Regardless of how long you are staying in England or your nationality, you are entitled to free emergency NHS treatment from a GP surgery, an A&E department at a hospital or an NHS walk in centre.

NHS prescription charges will apply to overseas visitors for medication provided.

There are different rules affecting hospital treatment for overseas visitors and the NHS choices web site explains the entitlement of NHS hospital treatment in England.  Click here for a direct link to that information.
